Bahadır BALKI is admitted lawyer of Istanbul Bar Association, a PhD candidate in the EU Law and also a partner of ACTECON, an independent and reputable competition & regulation consultancy firm based in Istanbul.
Mr. BALKI is known for his excellent work discipline together with his intriguing and effective defenses that he repeatedly demonstrated in many major anti-dumping & sunset review investigations initiated by Turkish Ministry of Economy and cartel & abuse of dominance investigations launched by Turkish Competition Authority. Mr. BALKI contributed in a variety of anti-dumping & sunset review investigations conducted in different industries (including textiles, blanket, BOPP film, flat glass, safety glass, bicycle tires/tubes, motor hoes, machine-made rugs, laminated flooring, glass fiber, flat steel, seamless tubes & pipes, porcelain and ceramic tableware) by Turkish and other antidumping authorities. Mr. BALKI has also successfully led leniency applications and closed many substantial merger control notifications throughout his career. He conducts comprehensive competition compliance programs and provides retainer services to his clients from a wide range of industries. As a result of his success in a short span of time, he is acknowledged and welcomed by other institutions. For instance, he was invited to the ICN Annual Meeting 2014 as a “resource person” on “Remedies, Commitments and Cooperation”. Also, he was a member of drafting team for ICN Unilateral Conduct Workbook Chapters on “Loyalty Rebates and Discounts” and “Tying”. Furthermore, he is one of the guest lecturers in LLM competition law courses at Istanbul Bilgi University. Likewise, Mr. BALKI has been one of the academic referees of Competition Journal published by Turkish Competition Authority.
